Mi Tjio

Grey Square

We all have a relationship with the scarf.

“Martha never understood the appeal of the head scarf. To her, they resembled her mother’s babushka, something she wore while she cleaned. Martha did not recognize the threat, then, the first time she saw Anthony’s mistress, hair long and straight, scarf tied gypsy style around her head, gold hoops dangling at her ears, drinking coffee with Anthony at the diner on Main Street in broad daylight.”*

The scarf,
a headwrap, a kerchief, a veil or a piece of cloth
kärt barn har många namn.

It is deconstructed.
Rebuilt under new conditions.
On equal ground.
What do you see?

“…she cried to her friends, ‘Je vais a la gloire’, and a minute later she was dead, her neck broken by her long scarf which was caught in the first revolution of the wheels.”**

Vi har alla en relation till scarfen.

Scarfen,
en huvudduk, en sjalett, en sjal eller en bit tyg
kärt barn har många namn.

Den är dekonstruerad.
Återuppbyggd under nya förhållanden.
För lika villkor.
Vad syns?

“…she cried to her friends, ‘Je vais a la gloire’, and a minute later she was dead, her neck broken by her long scarf which was caught in the first revolution of the wheels.”**
